Working with The City of Calgary and SNC Lavalin, we completed the construction documents and construction of six stations and eight substation buildings, stretching approximately 8.2 kilometers, (1.5 km of which is elevated), into Calgary’s southwest.
The new system design uniquely features both an elevated and an underground passenger station – premiere feature for the City’s LRT system. Project innovations include LRT guideway Installation Equipment and Elliptical Precast / Steel Structure Forms.
Passenger-friendly project elements include a total of six LRT stations, two LRT Park ‘n ride facilities, multiple pedestrian bridges providing access between train stations and parking, and two Transit bus terminals. These project elements incorporate many Accessible Design Guidelines and make the entire new section of the LRT accessible to all users. This project is targeting LEED® Gold certified.
