The recladding and renovation of the podium of the one-time Pan-Canadian Office building aims to bring vitality and life to an important intersection in Downtown Calgary. The rail motifs and influences seen throughout the interior of the building as well as the redesigned façade and plaza are a nod to the building’s storied past and deep connection with the CPR. The plaza is envisioned as a great outdoor social space and takes advantage of the sun-filled orientation with casual and formal gathering and eating areas. Internally, the Plus 15 network was moved to the south side of the building into a larger and more open lobby atrium, providing better and more active tenant spaces on both of the first two floors. The interior design of the building creates a unique “boutique” office atmosphere distinguishing the property from the typical downtown office market. The result is a warm and inviting office lobby with a well-utilized tenant lounge and great connectivity to Calgary’s urban realm.
