In 2015, the Town of Strathmore determined that they needed a new municipal building to provide their staff with a healthy environment, a better presence in the Town and to invigorate the town’s central park. The building is a two-storey building to house the town’s Administration, Business Units, Community Services and the Council Chamber. The building design is primarily about the image of the town as a forward-looking town with close ties to its history. It is a building that is an investment to the town’s future, that will also exude confidence to its citizens without being an image that affects the citizens’ financial responsibility.
GGA provided integrated design input from day one. Our value-add started with Programming of the municipality’s departments, administration and community services. The GGA scope included the industry’s current state-of-the-art workplace design philosophies and how it’s evolution in the future is going to affect the workplace—in terms of workplace pandemic requirements and resiliency. GGA organized and coordinated topics and issues that include the need for access to natural light, views from within, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, low-water use and other people-centric sustainability requirements and goals.
