Mount Royal University Parkade

In 2007, Mount Royal University engaged GGA and RJC Engineers to prepare a parking master plan for their growing campus. This plan outlines and evaluates several site options for above-grade structured parking. Many factors were considered, from operation and economics to scale and aesthetics, leading to recommendations for best value. Subsequent academic growth and overall campus master planning happened and in 2009, the college resumed planning for a new parkade structure. The design responds to the scale and architectural context of the selected site. Material selections, colour and detailing have been developed to complement the campus setting. The layout of the 1,200-stall parkade is highly efficient and the cost per stall is well within the budget.
