The Kelowna Golf & Country Club (KGCC) is a private, member-owned club located in the heart of Kelowna, British Columbia, at 1297 Glenmore Drive. Established in 1920, KGCC is one of the oldest and most respected golf courses in the Okanagan Valley, celebrated for its traditional design, towering ponderosa pines, and impeccably maintained fairways and greens. Situated along the slopes of Dilworth Mountain, the club offers dramatic elevation changes and panoramic views, creating a serene and secluded golf experience unlike any other in Kelowna.
To support the future of the club, this project examines the existing golf shop facilities and develops a comprehensive master plan focused on meeting the needs of club membership. GGA Architecture worked with KGCC to design the new golf shop, envisioned as a modern yet understated building that enhances the member experience. Located at the central hub of activity, the golf shop acts as a portal that frames views, provides shelter, and seamlessly connects the flow of play across the course. Its quiet, low-profile design complements the existing clubhouse while respecting the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The materials and finishes were carefully chosen to integrate with the course environment and reflect the interior BC lifestyle. Simple concrete walls and warm wood surfaces echo the natural elements of the course, creating a durable, timeless, and modern addition to the club’s facilities. The result is an elegant design that enriches the golfing experience while honouring the heritage and setting of one of Kelowna’s premier golf destinations.
