The design of ATCO’s new Calgary Corporate Campus is a showpiece and community anchor. It is comprised of an iconic central amenity building “The Commons” and flanked by two four-storey office buildings. The project totals 43,000 sq. ft. of new development.
The flanking buildings house the office space. This space is designed to create collision zones between team neighbourhoods, encouraging cross practice conversations and chance encounters. This was accomplished through combining work station neighbourhoods with flexible collaboration zones ensuring space provides a variety of settings to support diverse needs and activities throughout the day. Each floor has a large refreshment area located on the glass. This area was deliberately programmed with casual furnishings and welcoming textures / materials as a respite from the more focused work zones. Wayfinding is key: the areas are zoned with bold graphics and individual colour themes were developed for each floor.
