ATCO Park is a landmark development in Calgary, encompassing 228,302 square feet of innovative workspace designed to foster collaboration and community engagement. This facility reflects ATCO's multidisciplinary role in the province and serves as a testament to its commitment to excellence, innovation and community. At the heart of this project is the "Commons," an iconic central amenity building that serves as a hub for employees and the public while promoting a unified ATCO identity across the organization.
The Commons features a range of amenities, including ATCO's renowned Blue Flame kitchen, a café, an innovation centre and a state-of-the-art fitness facility. Designed with biophilic principles in mind, the building incorporates natural materials and maximizes views of the stunning surrounding mountains to create a welcoming and inspiring environment for all users. Large curved glulam beams add architectural rhythm and scale to enhance the aesthetics.
The office buildings flanking the Commons are designed to facilitate employee collaboration and interaction. With strategically placed collaboration zones, the layout encourages spontaneous conversations and teamwork—breaking down silos between different business units. Each floor features large refreshment areas with casual furnishings to provide a comfortable respite from focused work zones.
Wellness is a central theme in the design, with each office building boasting an atrium that brings in natural light as well as meeting rooms with access to daylight and natural views. The integration of current and future technology allows for a seamless user experience, while flexible solutions ensure the space can adapt over time.
Wayfinding throughout the campus is intuitive, with bold graphics and unique color themes for each floor that guide users effortlessly. Acoustic considerations, including soft surfaces and focus rooms, enhance comfort and productivity.
