The 300+ unit Arbour Lake Multi-Family development provides an elevated suburban purpose-built rental with high-end amenities and a diverse unit mix. Designed to appeal to a wide demographic, the Arbour Lake Multi-Family project is in a well-established neighbourhood surrounded by low—and medium-density housing and adjacent to a regional pathway.
This multi-phased project comprises four residential wood-frame buildings and a dedicated amenity clubhouse. It is in an established neighbourhood on a heavily sloped site with integrated pedestrian pathways and surface parking. The collection of buildings in the Arbour Lake Multi-Family development builds on the approach of a “lake development” through its use of high-contrast rich materials and sculpted “sail”-like rooftop elements.
The design team navigated a complex site topography by implementing a strategic layout centred around a clubhouse, ensuring full accessibility while optimizing parking to meet market demands. A sustainable design approach utilizes advanced analysis to maximize material efficiency and minimize construction waste. Thoughtful landscaping with native plantings further reduced water consumption. At the centre of the development lies the amenity building, which, at two storeys, provides a human-scale element with an articulated roofscape that has been considered the fifth facade for the tenants looking onto it.
By integrating strategic site planning, high-quality materials, and a strong emphasis on accessibility, the Arbour Lake Multi-Family development delivers an elevated living experience within a well-connected suburban community. The combination of diverse housing options, high-performance building systems, and a carefully designed amenity-rich environment ensures long-term value for residents while contributing to the overall vibrancy of the neighbourhood.
